Sponsorship: How to approach them

So how should you approach a sponsor and what will you tell them?

The basic thing you will need to approach a sponsor would be a letter- and possibly a presentation (optional). You should mostly email them your letter.

Your letter should explain:

• Who you are

• Brief explanation about the competition and what it entails

• Team identity

• Why you want them to help you

• Brief evaluation and what they get in return (e.g. awareness, promotion etc)

A presentation can be used to tell your sponsor more about the competition. You can also use this presentation to demonstrate:

• Car designs you might be developing

• About your team and roles

• Budget

• Contact

And it can also include your different packages e.g bronze, silver, gold etc. Furthermore, you should ensure you have additional and significant advantages for higher packages or your sponsor might not see the point in going for the top package.
